OKXICE Seeks Approval For 24/7 Tokenized Stock Trading

OKXICE, a joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to launch a platform for around-the-clock trading of tokenized US stocks.

A new SEC‑defined Tokenized Securities Venue (TSV) would allow investors to trade blockchain‑based versions of traditional exchange‑listed stocks within a regulated market structure.

The proposed venue would initially cover 63 stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange, according to reporting on the filing, including Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft and Tesla. Companies would have 30 days to object before their shares could be offered on the platform.

The filing comes after the SEC introduced a five-year “Innovation Exemption” in September allowing qualifying venues to facilitate trading in blockchain-based versions of US securities without registering as traditional exchanges. The framework places limits on the number of eligible stocks and trading volumes.

The proposed platform would combine OKX’s digital-asset infrastructure with ICE’s financial-market capabilities. ICE is the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange.

Andrew Cuomo, co-chair of OKXICE and a former New York governor, described the filing as “a landmark step toward a truly global, 24/7 Wall Street” in a post on X, adding that tokenized securities are the next stage in how digital assets are transforming the US financial system.

The move comes amid preparations for soon-to-launch round-the-clock trading from global exchanges including the NYSE, Nasdaq ‌and the London Stock Exchange.
